The crowd that protested cell towers is basically the same crowd protesting smart meters and they are LOUD.Sewertoons AKA Lynette Tornatzkyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04501351678541088868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13758431.post-89484201180590160372011-04-01T05:20:32.533-07:002011-04-01T05:20:32.533-07:00Dang! about the water smart meters for Los Osos. Re the poor guy you mention, I've had a similar thing happen once a few years ago--absolutely silent toilet leak, the tank level just barely topping the overflow pipe so the water slowly drained out without triggering the tank-refill, which would have alerted me something was wrong. Sooooo Not good. I'm absolutely paranoid about checking that level now. Also had a drip-line break that went unnoticed until I got the bill. The issue of course isn't the money, though that's bad enough, but the lost water.Churadogshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17701649330085709021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13758431.post-52406638233115484482011-04-01T00:17:47.008-07:002011-04-01T00:17:47.008-07:00Great article Ann - thanks for the read.
We DID ...Great article Ann - thanks for the read.

We DID discuss water smart meters at the LOCSD Utilities Committee meeting and learned that the CSD is far too broke to consider it - much to the relief of one committee member and the dismay of the rest of us. I don't know if you catch any of the CSD meetings on Channel 20 or take out the DVDs, but one meeting had a long discussion on one customer's dilemma. He had around a $6,000 water bill due to an undetected break in the water line, no negligence on his part (dry season, the water just went down, down, down). Board policy changed to address unfortunate accidents like this and to give customers a break. Yes, it would be nice to save water with a smart meter.Sewertoons AKA Lynette Tornatzkyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04501351678541088868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13758431.post-18224447494643302442011-03-31T14:15:48.982-07:002011-03-31T14:15:48.982-07:00The powder in the o'l Canon is dry and the can...The powder in the o'l Canon is dry and the canon aimed right at the main mast and the windage and drop accounted for.
Bang!
In other words.
