Elections! Elections! Elections! The elections for Los Osos CSD are now officially off and running. Anyone registered as a candidate and running for the Board who wishes to send me their official Press Release/candidate position statement, please send to churadogs@aol.com, as a WORD attachment, I'll post them on the blogsite as they come in. As information comes in on any candidate forums, I'll post that info here as well. I hope the community will pay close attention to each candidate and then go vote in November.

Hi Ann,
I am saddened, but not suprised, that the LOCSD filed for backruptcy this afternoon. Saddened for the community will have to undego years of painful belt-tightening to ensure that critical services continue; but not suprised as my cash flow analysis of June 6 predicted the collaspe; abet it was filed 7 days later than I expected.
I will offer my assistance to the District (if asked) to establish policy as to how we overcome bankrupcty.

Ann,
What makes you think there will be a LOCSD at election time?
With this brand-new press release, this Board is on the skids. The only decent thing is to put it out of its misery, and disolve the damned thing.
The press release reads like the usual whiney Lisa stuff- just a continuation of the same denial of what this Board has caused to themselves and to the long-suffering property owners who will have to pick up the pieces, pay off the creditors, and, -hopefully-be able to keep their homes.
When it is printed (online or in the paper) you, if you have any sense at all- will see that this is the usual blame game. She blames Taxpayers Watch, the State Water Resources Control Board, the Contractors, the Regional Water Quality Control Board and others.
Take particular note of Lisa stating that, "This move (filing under Chapter 9) is essential to protect the fiscal integrity of the LOCSD and to assure local control over important public services"
She has got to be kidding!
Now watch each and every vendor of the LOCSD demand payment in advance, or COD, or a "good faith deposit" or something to insure their getting paid.
Could you blame them? Nobody could.
This District needs to disolve, as soon as possible. The damage has already been done by this bumbling Board and their "Interim General Manager".
That press release might just very well be the most shameless piece of victumized fluff (from a group of people who raised the bar on shamelessness) I have seen so far. I have never gone along with the idea of dissolution. But after reading that, and knowing that Tacker and Schicker will sit on that board a while longer, I think the CSD beast needs to go, and the sooner, the better.
Anonymous 6:37 PM, you are absolutely right!
We need to DISOLVE THE LOCSD BEAST NOW!! The Chapter 9 Recontruction
horse pucky is exactly that; just by being in office, and by letting the loose cannons Julie and Lisa have at it in the press is cause enough in embarassment, to get them off the screen and off the scene, publicly.
I am so embarassed everytime either one of those two "public servants" are in print or online, or on the TV, I absolutely cringe, because I know we are the complete fools of the County, the State and the Nation, and these two women absolutely PROVE we are morons.
God forgive every fool (Thank God I was NOT one of them) that voted for any of these horse's asses.
I urge- no, make that CHARGE- every self respecting Los Osos property owner who has had enough of this nonsense to show up for the meeting of LAFCO. Reserve September 21st. I will provide the time and place later.
For God's sake, NOW is the time to get involved and let your voice be heard!

The players mentioned above were/are all players in this game, their fingerprints all over the knives. And filing bankruruptcy IS one method of "protecting fiscal integrity" until the dust settles and the mess can be sorted out. What remains to be seen is how this plays out vis a vis the Blakeslee Bill, the County's involvement, LAFCo & etc. Since it's Los Osos, the password is, as always, Stay Tuned.

I know the Board will be so appreciative of your more than kind offer and I'm sure they'll be calling you soon so you can show them how to overcome this bankruptcy.
Ann,
You are being snarky toward Richard.
You know darn well that members of this board openly doubted Richard's cash flow analysis when he put it online. This is funny considering they should have had all the information to know that he was right. I guess that Richard was right in another way also ... Dan Blesky may very well have kept the facts from the board.
Do you honestly think that the board would ask Richard for any help or advice? Even if he was able to outline, in advance, what was going to happen? I think that they'll likely stick with their expert financial advice from Gail.
I am saddened by this board's unwillingness to do anything sensible.
