Cat’s Coming!

The sewer-pipe laying men arrived at my doorstep at about 7:30 a/m with a variety of big cats, shoring shields that keep the men protected while they’re in the trenches, and a variety of heavy equipment. By 4-ish, they were finished, for now, and had moved on.

Starting at the corner.

Shoring shields.  Try saying that three times rapidly.

Tapping in a square shoring shield using the hopper filled with sand scooped out of the middle of the hole.  The operators manipulate these huge “hands” with the delicacy of a lady at tea, gently tapping the teacups with her little pinky sticking out.  Their skill is quite extraordinary.

Digging deep for manhole junction.

Dropping the shield in place, pretty turqoise pipe in front.

Shoring shield waiting for pick up.

Yup, big hole.

Backfilling pipe and hosing down.

Done and gone. Wait, you forgot your bucket.

Fortunate that you are (hopefully) to see your construction well outside of the rainy season.
It's quite the dust bowl, more so with the 9 th and LOVR intersection (center of Urintown) involved recently
Too difficult to sign in under my name from Android
So I'll stay Santo Alphonse De La Perla.

Too bad!!! but then you bitch over any sewer construction.

We're thankful to see the progress by these professional contractors!

I would pay to have Ann buried underneath the street... alive, of course.

Anon 12:28, try reading Ann's post before you post, there was no bitching.

Anon 1:39, grow TF up.

"(center of Urintown)" isn't exactly painting a pretty picture of Los Osos or the wonderful construction. Same bitch would have been made of any sewer construction. I almost wish they had built it on the Tri-W site just to have heard the complaining then.

Go read Anon 9:46 again!

Anon 2:56: I did read Anon 9:46 again. I don't see it. You of course may hold your own opinion.

Well, I see my favorite Fan Boys are back. Really amazing how addicted to this blog they are, all while whining about how awful the blog is. Don't think they have a clue of how silly this makes them look.

Gee I'd had thought that Alphonse De La Perla would be too obviously ME, the Latino version of St. Alfie of the pearl.
Toons got it right as a neutral observation. To note that a poster of the play Urintown showing up at La Casita on 9th Street, mid construction, is an obvious irony and hardly partisan.

Like the Zimmerman story the NEW evidence is freshly examined through the same OLD polarized lenses.

I think it may be useful to understand that the Anonymous Sewer Animosity we see here, as before was never really about the sewer, as it has a long established history of outraged self agonized anguish looking for a vent.

ASA - You got that right Alon, I mean Señor De La Perla! Gotta check out that poster! Ha!
