Your Sunday Poem on a Saturday.

RAIN! RAIN! RAIN!
Soft rain, sweet rain
longed for rain, prayed for  rain
a blessing on the earth.
RAIN! RAIN! RAIN!
Puddles of rain, gutters of rain
delicious on a run-out tongue,
tasting of  . . .  "More, please!"
RAIN! RAIN!
Hallelujah!
Thank you.
Amen.

Wonderful poem! Don't your plants look happy!! Mine are practically bouncing up and down on their roots with joy!

I went out into the front yard with a shovel the next morning and 1" down the sand is still bone dry.
Sigh.

Well, let's hope the next rain and the next will eventually get down to the roots. But, washed clean, they do look like happy campers.

Oh, the picture I used was from a few October's ago since this rain started at dark and by the next morning light, no puddles. But, was interesting to note when I pulled the photo it was dated October, so I guess our first rains must arrive then.

Well, whenever, I'll take what I can get.

we had one day of sputtering rain.
it only got the top of the soil damp.

basically the rain washed off the foliage.
sigh...

Yeah, I think it was a 6 month span in between rains. I'm going out to weed now. Seems 1" is fine for them, but I too wish it had gone deeper. Less output per minute over a longer span would have done it. I will take whatever I can get too, but I just keep wishing for more!

Bunchadogs: Where are you located? Here in los Osos it was a gentle rain all night, not sputtering. Though the next day in SLOTOWN by late morning there were some pretty good rain bursts off and on. So wonder if various parts of the county got a different kind of wet.
