Please Go Away, Thank You

There can be no greater proof of former President George Bush's grotesque narcissism than this:  In his new book he claims that the most memorably hurtful thing that happened during his entire presidency is when Kayne West dissed him.

That's like the child who fire-bombs his house, killing everyone in it, and when he's found standing next to the burning rubble and dead bodies, whines about getting a small lock of his hair singed.

Shut up, George.  And go away.  Forever.

Oh, Now, THAT's Something I Can't Wait To See

Earmarks, we got earmarks.  Tea Partiers arriving in the K-Street Swamp (aka Wholly Owned Corporate Congress) are revved up and already talking about getting rid of earmarks.  Eee-haw!  Dump them evil earmarks!  When, suddenly, eerrrrkkkkk, the old-time K-Street Swampers (Wholly Owned Old-Time Republican Congresspeople and Senators, with Wholly Owned Old Time Democratic Congressfolks waiting in the wings) are having an attack of the Vagues.  Well, er, we'll have to take a look at that, well certainly, it's something to consider, uh, we'll have to debate that. Translation: Oh, that'll never happen.

Poor Partiers.  Lambs to Slaughter, put there by Low Information voters who don't have a clue how their government works, let alone how Corporate Congress works.

Get rid of earmarks.  Sure.  Right.

This country's political system is built on lies: We the People lie to ourselves and then elect representatives who will tell us the lies we want to hear.  Then we send them to Washington to pretend to do the things we lied about wanting to get done, and (surprise?) when they don't get done, we get angry, put on Tri-corner hats, strap guns to our hips and start babbling about the Constitution and "Freedom."

For a rather over-the-top take:
http://kunstler.com/blog/2010/10/now-what.html

"This is what the two major parties can look forward to as we swing around into the Yuletide season and then into 2011. The proud winners of seats in congress and the senate might as well put on clown suits and little pointed hats on Wednesday morning and drive around the Washington monument in toy cars."

Nice smack!

The sad thing will be the two years (or more) likely to be lost in gridlock -- with the clock running out on alternative energy programs (with China and India chugging ahead of us), for example. We actually don't have any time to waste. So we'll wast it anyway and could end up losing the game entirely. Sigh.

Meantime, it will be interesting to watch some very hard Washinton realities smacking some amazing low-information naifs between the eyes. And then listen for the shrieks when a whole list of unintended consequences start trickling down to the low-information voters, who will start to sputter, "Wait, I didn't me it to apply to ME. . ."

On the other hand, Republicans MAY finally figure out there's a huge difference between being purist side-liners and now actually having to get their hands down into the greasy sausage bowl, so they may actually have to get off the bench and come up with something other than NO NO NO NO.

Well, stay tuned.

Mm ba ba de
Um bum ba de
Um bu bu bum da de
Pressure pushing down on me
Pressing down on you no man ask for
Under pressure - that burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
Um ba ba be
Um ba ba be
De day da
Ee day da - that's o.k.
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming 'Let me out'
Pray tomorrow - gets me higher
Pressure on people - people on streets
Day day de mm hm
Da da da ba ba
O.k.
Chippin' around - kick my brains around the floor
These are the days it never rains but it pours
Ee do ba be
Ee da ba ba ba
Um bo bo
Be lap
People on streets - ee da de da de
People on streets - ee da de da de da de da
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming 'Let me out'
Pray tomorrow - gets me higher high high
Pressure on people - people on streets
Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love
but it's so slashed and torn
Why - why - why ?
Love love love love love
Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance
Why can't we give love that one more chance
Why can't we give love give love give love give love
give love give love give love give love give love
'Cause love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is ourselves
Under pressure
Under pressure
Pressure

I love how Liberal Progressives are so very unconcerned with all the killing Obama is doing, so very, very disengenuous, like Liberal Progressivism itself, doncha know...

Fortunately I can see November 6, 2012 from my front porch, doncha know...

Barack Obama is our president and the premise of this column is that Former President Bush is narcisistic?

I am going to get my bible and my gun. There has never been a U.S. President more out of touch with, and disrespectful of, the American people.

Well, I have yet to read George Bush's book as yet. I haven't seen it in the stores. But when I read Ann Calhoun, it makes me feel like I am on the Huffington Post. Not that her opinions do not have value, in my opinion. They just represent the concepts of a failed economic system: SOCIALISM. I started as a socialist, but have abandoned it due to practical experience. The question is production or looting.

Right now the fed is printing money to buy treasury bills and we can already feel the inflation in the food market. Look at the price of gold. In five years $360 to $1400 an ounce. Next year Calhoun will scream and blame those who produce the food and sell it as greedy capitalists when the cost of butter hits $12 a lb.

Worse still, we will see empty supermarkets as found in Russia prior to their conversion to capitalism. Read Ayn Rand "Atlas Shrugged". In 1957 she wrote a novel about what could happen today.

So Ann, don your Burka and prepare for the future by going back to the past. I pray for America, after all, God listens to agnostics.

Unfortunately the US is lost as is California. When things get really bad, think about people who see life with a hand out like Ann Calhoun. Nothing like something from others hard work. Pay them sewer bills folks! Nobody in the state or county is going to help, and the feds will probably reneg on any and all grants. (no mun-no fun)

Nothing can be done about the mess that Dodd and Frank got us into. Better buy guns and ammo. Those who have not will be coming to get what you got. This is a fact of civilization and human nature.

Mike Green is correct!

Who is John Galt?

No, No, No, is the best defense against economic stupidity. No, No, No is soothing and stops me from having to take an Obama.

Fascinating how "conservatives" seem to always sink into hysteria and then leap to extreme and violent conclusions (Butter TWELVE DOLLARS A POUND WE ARE DOOMED!!! DOOMED!!!!!!!!!! Getcher GUN!). It must be their constant default position. Or maybe they're all just hysterical drama queens by nature?

Fascinating how progressive/liberal/socialists have not learned from the mistakes of their system in the past. Even today they postulate with their head in the sand. Hear no evil, see no evil, touch no evil, if they agree with the philosophy of Marx.

Don't worry Ann, the government will correct your social service and pension payments by increasing them and pay you with money worth half as much! The only people who will win are those with a fixed mortgage that they can pay off with cheaper dollars: IF THEY HAVE A JOB!

Spectator says " the fed keeps printing money to buy treasury bills".

Perhaps it's time to get back to the constitutionally correct gold standard again.

But, I guess that, even if they should decide to clean out the $350 billion or so gold coffers today, we would still be in debt.
