Rain! Rain! Blessed Rain!

Soft and gentle, it snuck in its welcome wetness to dampen the dry ground and perhaps sprout a few seeds on the bare hills. Winter's a'comin'

Your rainy Saturday poem by Richard Wilbur.

The Horses

Shaggy and heavily natural, they stand

Immobile under their thick and cumbrous manes,

Pent in a barbed enclosure which contains,

By way of compensation, grazing-land.

Nothing disturbs them now. In slow increase

They fatten like the grass. Doomed to be idle,

To haul no cart or wagon, wear no bridle,

They grow into a vegetable peace.

Soul is the issue of so strict a fate.

They harbor visions in their waking eyes,

And with their quiet ears participate

In heaven's pure serenity, which lies

So near all things -- yet from the beasts concealed,

Serene now, superhuman, they crop their field.

Maria,

I'll post this again since you may have missed it.

I would appreciate a response!

Maria,

Support the County "process," you say?!!

First put on your Ray Charles glasses...

How do you think the County profiting from the project is fair? The more they spend, the more they make? How can you justify and not question this?

How about the County refusing to have the State and Federal Government help out financially to pay when they are required under the law? How can you justify and not question this?

How can you support sole sourcing?

How can you support the trumped up numbers you and TAC did on the STEP system. It's a lie. NWRI doesn't like Tri-W, so why don't you "can" the site? "Not afraid of Tri-W" is your ambiguous endorsement of Tri-W to confuse the community. As in your mailer. Otherwise you would simply state your positions and stand by them. But with you, as you accuse others, the end does justify the means.

Your hypocrisy is now transparent to all. You would have been better off bragging, "I'm for Tri-W, Taxpayers Watch and a 'blank check' for the County!!" than faking it.

You think and act like Gordon, Richard and Paavo know more than the experts -- more than NWRI or any independent expert who has ever looked at Tri-W. Yet you mindlessly support a "floating" plant at Tri-W!!!

How can you support the County and Paavo when he says the Tri-W site acts as a "sponge"? That tells US how Paavo, the bean counter, lapsed CPA -- not an engineer -- is as biased as you are AND Tri-W is where you both are headed. That's why you MUST be defeated.

Nope, Maria! You support some very bad behavior and wrong, ignorant ideas. You are dishonest and insincere. You DO support Tri-W just like Gordon and Richard. Plain and simple. You can cry all you want, but most people see through you. It's really not that hard.

County biscuits for you, too, Maria? Just like Shark? Get in line for the Gravy Train. Actions speak louder than words, and your actions betray you loudly.

If you have a question regarding State and Federal funds, maybe you should start speaking with local offices: Capps, Feinstein, Blakeslee - will they take or return your calls?

How can you support sole sourcing?
Ripley/Orenco: CSD meeting in 2006,then 2 more;
October 2007 and September 2008

Not only do I ask the county questions, I question the motivation of these companies and why they keep coming back? There is a process for them to participate in and yet they keep coming back to sell the community a product. The process allows for the community survey. Why do you want to influence the survey? I support the process to hear from the community.

I was on the environmental committee and did not bring any STEP numbers to the table.

Under CEQA, the the mid-town site must be evaluated. For all of your background experience, I am very surprised that you keep forgetting that detail.

This community deserves to see a side by side comparison - that way, we can let go of either mid-town or out of town, we can have an equal footing to move beyond the arguing. I do support the process and I am looking forward to the EIR.

"County biscuits..." I'm not a dog from the animal shelter.

Our community needs to focus on the issue. I will not be distracted by the accusations and misinformation. This isn't about winning or losing an election, this is about our community having this chance to get what they asked for with the recall, the dissolution and the passed 218. This is one way for that to come together. I will only "cry" if the litigation begins again and the community continues to be held hostage by an agenda - that of fear, mistrust and misinformation.

Thank you for opening my eyes to what the real challenge is that lies ahead.

Maria,

Thank you for responding. I appreciate that.

I have not seen any questions asked by you to the County. Perhaps these were not in televised meetings? I have only seen you thanking them for a job well done. I know they are making good salaries and have spent plenty of our money already. I have seen dishonest actions by the County. I see a lot of thank yous but no questions on your part.

You must understand where I am coming from.

When the CSD was on it's way after the recall, Pandora told the County to take the project away. Sam Blakeslee did that for her and her people. Shirley and Noel said the project would be gravity. Mark said we'd go the fastest way with the project and plans that we already had. He also said the BOS would use over-riding considerations. Then you have Gordon protecting the Tri-W site - fences and snails. Then you have Paavo saying the Tri-W area would act as a sponge. Then you have inflated Step figures presented at TAC. How does this look?

You have Don Beardon opposing Step at every opportunity, and you are with him at BOS meetings looking like "kissing cousins". You meet and hang with Gordon and Richard. How does this look?

How about the field trips to gravity treatment based plants? Why not visit more modern systems?
Again, how does this look to the public?

As far as the State and Federal Government stepping up to the plate to do what is legally required of them - it is not my job to request this. It is the County's job. That is my point. The County could and should have done this.

The community "survey" is a joke, especially with all points I've mentioned above. A dog and pony show. If it were a true survey, it would be only the homeowners who will have to pay and live with the sewer (not others outside who want the big gravity sewer, ie real estate interest, developer interests, people like George M. who doesn't want the thing in his back yard).

You haven't been here as long as I have. You have been educated by the uneducated who refuse to listen to the real experts.

This sewer war is dirty and rotten and that's because some will make money off of regular people who don't deserve to be kicked out of town. You won't be. Maybe that's why you don't understand.

As far as more lawsuits, there may be more if the County pulls any more tricks and the people become more aware rather than just trusting the process. The process hasn't been fair to date.

What about the County making a profit off this project? You didn't respond to that one. They've already spent around $6 million right? On what? Mailers basically putting down Step? Paying Corollo, a company who only does gravity systems?

I hope you can understand now why I have to question actions by Pandora, the County and the TAC.

"Why not visit more modern systems?"

Where are they? Oh, yeah, Florida. I think that is the only system in America that even remotely resembles what a retrofit here would look like - minus the hills of course.

So -- should the County pay for a field trip to Florida?

Sewertoons AKA Lynette Tornatzky said...

getreal,

The town continually turning down and FIGHTING HAVING A SEWER AT ALL is what has made this so expensive. Why not talk about that a little bit?

Someone better start talking about how to run a CSD and how to resolve this bankruptcy created by the post recall mismanagement...

sure don't need a getrealosos attitude further dividing the community....

Osos Change said...

... and I'm sure that your comments about wishing people would have strokes doesn't divide the community either, Mike?

I see you have recovered from yours... I'm glad, now if you can get your head extracted from.... well, we all know you and getrealosos are all for sitting around the ol' campfire and singing cumbaya, thankful that Lisa is finally going to thank the past Directors for all the wonderful work they did to put a real Plan forward... She'll likely ask Al Barrow to say a special blessing and our love-child will renounce her vow to derail any project... All the nasty threats, enuendo and lies made against the past Directors will be forgotten... I'm really sure you will take the lead and apologise to the community for your part in making and perpetuating those lies...

Until then, keep visiting your doc on a regular basis...

Maria,

No distractions from me. It was SharkInlet that keep bringing up (over and over and over) the subject of you and Gordon in Oregon (and asking me to answer to that).

Nope, no distractions on my part Maria.

I wrote you about all of my concerns regarding the County process. You chose not to discuss that. I don't need to wonder why! After all, this is why I'm blogging to begin with.

I'll try it again, maybe this time you can respond rather than going around the issues raised by me:

When the CSD was on it's way after the recall, Pandora told the County to take the project away. Sam Blakeslee did that for her and her people. Shirley and Noel said the project would be gravity. Mark said we'd go the fastest way with the project and plans that we already had (Tri-W/gravity). He said the BOS would use over-riding considerations.

PS Maybe these older people who think you may be helping them will be in for a shock when they find out your true agenda.

AND, exactly who are your friends that are recall supporters? Just curious!
